This was an intriguing historical fiction book written by David Greenberg, son of Jack Greenberg, who was the Civil Rights Lawyer for Martin Luther King Jr.  David tells the story as a twelve year old boy who actually witnessed the events and through actual speeches, notes and interviews from those who were fighting for the right to vote back in the 1950’s.  David Greenberg does a great job portraying the hatred, cruelty and the struggles that African Americans went through just to have the right to vote.  Historical fiction buffs will love this fast paced, easy to read novel.
