The Genius Files: Mission Unstoppable

The Genius Files:  Mission Unstoppable by Dan Gutman

New York:  Harper, 2011

285 pages         Grades 5-7

Students, you won’t want to miss this book! This Gutman book is an action packed adventure not for the faint of heart!  Twelve year old genius twins, Coke and Pepsi (that’s right who in their right name would name their twins that!) get followed by these “bowler hat dudes” who want to kill them!  Why would anyone want to kill them?  After they get home school they decide the guys must have been mistaken but the very next day, the last day of school, the health teacher tries to trap them in the basement of the school and sets fire to the building   After a narrow escape they feel safe at home with their nerdy parents and get ready to take off in a RV for a cross country trip!  Mom writes for a Website Amazing But True, so this trip is full of side trips to see amazing, obscure, tourist traps!  These side trips will make you laugh and wonder—could they really exist? Well I am here to say—yes they all exist!  The biggest ball of twine, the Pez Museum, the Salt Flats—they all exist and are fascinating to read about, as I made many side trips, of my own, to Google to check them all out!  Unfortunately, they are not out of danger yet—in fact danger is following them.  Could someone be after them for their brains?  Great villains, great fun and great adventure all in store for you in this book.  If you still are not tempted to pick up this book how about if I just tell that the bad guys have an iJolt!  A must read for Gutman fans!
