Okay what’s not to love about a middle school girls diary! I am not sure if I have have thrown away my diary from middle school–but let me assure you it was just as dorky as Racchel Renee Russell’s newest Dork Diaries! Complete with the inner thoughts about boys, friends and enemies! I can identify with Nikki’s angst about what did that hug mean, does he like me as a friend or girl friend? However, my occassional doodles in my diary were no match for the great drawings that help to tell a chapter in the life of 14 year old Nikki Maxwell, dork extraordinare!
In this installment Nikki gets what she thinks is a “pity” invitation to Brandon’s Party, a phone call from him where Nikki’s little sister, Brianna, totally embarasses her and she finds out that he volunteers for his granndparents animals shelter that is in danger of closing because of lack of funding.
In comes a possible solution to help keep the animal shelter open–win the Ice-Skate-a-Thon, the money raised goes to a charity! Nikki reluctantly signs up with her two BFF’s who are great ice dancers–I say reluctantly because Nikki can not skate!
You will not want to miss this exciting and hilarious fourth book of the Dork Diaries!
